Beth joined the department in the summer of 2024 and is thrilled to now serve as the Department Administrator. After earning her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Performance from Missouri State University, and her Master of Fine Arts in Stage Management, from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, Beth spent over two decades working as a theatre professional.
Beth had a successful, fun-filled, and exhausting career as a professional AEA Stage Manager where she got to work at many theatres in Chicago, including the Goodman Theatre, Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, and Paramount Theatre. She also worked frequently at Kansas City Repertory Theatre, Heart of America Shakespeare Festival, and Shakespeare Theatre Company in DC. Beth then transitioned to a Production Manager with Paramount Theatre and then continued her career at Seattle Children’s Theatre where she also moved into the position of General Manager and an EDI Steward. She had the privilege of working with amazing artists across the country on countless exceptional productions.
After spending over two decades of her life working in professional theatre, Beth decided to make the transition to academic arts administration. Beth loves being a part of the administration team here for the Department of Theatre and Drama. You can find her, and the candy bowl that lives on her desk, on the sixth floor in Vilas.
