Clare Arena Haden is a Wisconsin native who teaches Theatre 200: Acting Skills for Life at UW-Madison in the Theatre & Drama Department. The course is designed to help students with any background and career path grow in their confidence as a public speaker and build effective communication skills using actor training techniques. She received a BFA in Musical Theater from UW-Stevens Point, an MFA in Acting from UW-Madison, and has worked as a professional actor, voice and speech coach, and teaching artist for 30 years. She’s worked regionally with Milwaukee Repertory Theater, American Players Theatre, Theatre LILA, Utah Shakespeare Festival, Chamber Theatre, Renaissance Theaterworks, Four Seasons Theatre, Rocky Mountain Repertory Theatre, and Children’s Theatre of Madison. Clare is passionate about being a positive force of support for others, recognizing she is one stop along the way of becoming a more effective communicator and fully-expressed and authentically present human being.
