I am the writer/director of a short film shooting the last week of May on the Wisconsin River, north of Madison. The team is headed by myself and Academy Award winning filmmaker and composer, Kris Bowers .We are reaching out to regional collegiate drama programs and ballet/acting academies in search of the two young leads, brothers Otto and Julien. We’d like to find local actors who feel authentic to the roles.Ages: 18-22Ethnicity: White or mixedNote: We would love to cast real brothers or cousinsPaid: YesOtto – He is a young buck, brimming with physical confidence. He feels like a warrior in bloom, his physical impulses overpowering his thoughts and out-running his grasp of the world. Broad and yet boyish. Bullheaded and proud. A dance or athletic background would be ideal. Experience canoeing and in the outdoors is ideal.Julien – He is stoic and reverent. He radiates a quiet confidence, the patience of an eldest sibling, and with it, a sense of duty to his parents and ancestors. However, in his lucidity he is skeptical of the ritual’s outcome, knowing his father’s wiley ways. He is sinewy with a sensitive, piercing gaze. A dance or athletic background would be ideal. Experience canoeing/fishing is ideal.
