Auditions for THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE November 2 and 6

Hello everyone!

We are Danielle Bullock and Alex Cook, and we are second year Master’s students studying vocal performance. This spring, we will be putting on The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee in Music Hall, and we are hoping to get undergraduates involved! Regardless of your major or year, if you have interest in being a part of the cast, we encourage you to audition! Directed by Danielle Bullock & Alex CookAUDITIONS: Sunday, November 2nd 1-4pm and Thursday, November 6th 4-7pm. (sign up for a 10-minute slot below) in Humanities 1341.

CALLBACKS: Friday, November 7th 5-8pm in Humanities 1341.

Preparation Materials:32 bars or approximately 1 minute of contemporary musical theatre. We will not have an accompanist at auditions, so please provide your own track or be prepared to sing a cappella. We will have a Bluetooth speaker, but please feel free to bring your own to avoid delays.

NOTE: We are also accepting video auditions. Please send the above materials with an intro slate to dbbullock@wisc.edu and aecook6@wisc.edu prior to October 31st. Once you submit an audition, we will send you the audition form for more information from you.

ROLES:

NOTE: All roles are open to actors of any gender identity. The genders listed in the character breakdown are based on the context of the script and whether or not gender-identity is important to the context of the story. Please reach out with any questions to dbbullock@wisc.edu.

Schedule:

Show dates: February 13-14th in Music Hall

Music rehearsals and table work will begin December 8th-12th with individual vocal coaching sessions starting in December according to daytime availability.

Staging Rehearsals start upon return from winter break (January 20th) and occur on a Monday-Friday 6pm-10pm schedule. Actors will fill out detailed schedule availability at auditions. Here is the tentative rehearsal calendar.

NOTE: There are three rehearsals tentatively scheduled for the end of winter break. We’d love if people were available, but those rehearsals are subject to actor availability.
