CASTING CALL: Casting for STEM Failure Study Video

CASTING CALL: Casting for STEM Failure Study Videos

Looking for 8-10 participants who will be assigned characters, such as students in college STEM courses, scientists, and professors, and enact the scenarios together. The “scenes” are a panel discussion. The videos will be used as interventions to support student success in STEM by teaching how to navigate failure productively.

We are committed to building a diverse cast for the videos. Therefore, no roles have a specific race, age or identity attached to them. Our goal is to make it clear that it’s the approach to failure that matters—not the individual themselves. We encourage scientists (no acting background required) and actors (no science background required) to participate.

Filming dates: December 2, 3 or 4 (One of the following dates based on your availability)

Filming times: 10:00am-3:00pm

Location: Studio on UW-Madison campus

Lunch provided!

Participants will receive scripts two weeks prior to filming and take part in a table read on the day of filming. The team would like to emphasize that the acting component is minimal. It will be a panel discussion format with no physical performance required, making it a relaxed and low-stakes experience.

If you’re available and interested, please reach out to Laura Langley, Tiny Earth Project Manager, at lllangley@wisc.edu by November 6.
